Where the Shadows come from...

I know little to nothing about forums or how to work them so if you say something or I do something and I don't know what the heck I even did go easy on me ;w; Also the Intro was longer then that but the page froze and I lost it DX Retyping things is hard man..

In this world, the impossible can be made possible. This can be done by the will of anyone.... or by luck, granted to one in a billion. These individuals rarely show case their luck drawn cards.. and some, even if they could, could not show you what they are able to perceive. In the city they walk among thousands. Hidden by their known normality they live free. However, they will have to learn to live with their abilities, learn how to use them.. some may even abuse them..
And those that abuse them do so in their own benefit, but what can anyone else do? Their entire work is preposterous. Even if someone were to tell another they would not be taken seriously. They can play around.. do as they wish.. but only few will see and believe, see..
..and change.
____Summary and some details____
As vague as that might have been, I'll provide something more blunt.
Basically you'd be a character with a power. It could be an element, like the ability to bend and manipulate earth or fire, it could be a creation ability (under certain limits), it could be mind reading, prediction, super strength, flying (with or without wings), ect. It could be anything as long as it doesn't make your character a mary/gary stu (and your character need not necessarily be born with their ability). The main idea is that these people will all meet each other in this city, and upon coming into contact with 'shadows' they are able to see what they couldn't see before.
The 'shadows' are literally that; shadows with physical form. No average person can see them, but they're everywhere. Most are blobs or small wispy particles that float around the air, but some are vicious beasts. The most common are Shadow beasts; wolf like creatures that drool a deep black and their eyes glow a blood red. They typically don't attack random people (but sometimes they will go insane for no reason)... People who are able to see them will get attacked eventually if the beasts are aware that the individual can see them. If they get a chance to, they may kill whomever they attack.
To be able to see shadows, your character (unless if you wish to make them an exception from this) must have one of three things happen. They must either be..
-Bitten by a shadow beast. Someway, somehow, doesn't matter how it goes down it just has to happen.
-Come into contact with a shadow user. This ranges from being touched by their abilities to being around them for a long enough period of time (by talking to them and interacting with them). They can also consciously impart their sight (if they know how). The only shadow users (currently) are Kiku and the Main Villain.
-Dragged into either the Realm of Shadows (Shadow Realm) or the Darkness Dimension. (They're explained in more detail below)
There are two realms of shadows. The Shadow Realm (I'm not going Yu Gi Oh on you I promise) and the Darkness dimension.
The Shadow Realm is the Realm that users of Shadow can freely step into, Kiku included. By just placing ones hand on a wall with shadows present, the wall will darken and people (even non Shadow users) can step into the shadow and float about. Other then being able to look out of the shadow realm, the realm itself is nothing but void blackness. The only way you can tell of where you are is by looking around you and seeing outside through the shadows. By moving around in this darkness, and moving towards those images, is how you get out, HOWEVER, if you are a non shadow user (or if your someone who doesn't have an ability similar to darkness or night in some way) you can not see outside the shadows into the real world; you are trapped in blackness.
The Darkness Dimension is more.. three dimensional, in a sense. Kiku will not be able to freely enter it until later in the roleplay.. And anyone who does enter it that does not have an inherent ability for darkness or shadows will slowly suffocate within the realm itself. In the dimension, you can walk around the real world as if nothing has happened.. Only no one can see you. The shadows are more clear.. and their are thousands of shadow particles emitted from the ground that slowly float upward. During the daytime the sky would turn black, and night the sky would be white. Despite this, however, everything would appear as if it were glowing, especially any of the shadows that might inhabit the region. Buildings and people will still have their inherent colors, but people themselves will be semi transparent. You can interact with objects and people in the real world freely from within this dimension.
Other then that the setting itself is modern, as in today modern.
___Rules___
1) Canon characters only. No OCs, No Nyos, and 2Ps may or may not be used as a plot point (so until I figure that out fully you can't be 2Ps either)
2) Try to reply weekly at the very LEAST. I understand life issues but if you don't respond for more then 24 days and there's other people who want to be in it you might be dropped. That's the last thing I want to do so please respond.
3) The only exception to the above is if you warn me in advance, but if you do that your character has to be going somewhere while everyone else continues on with the main story.
4) A paragraph by my standards is 4-5+ sentences, more is definitely encouraged. This is the lit side of the forums so it is definitely encouraged :3
5) When going OOC you can do it in the same post. Typically I see people do (( blah )), [[ blah ]], OOC: blah blah but if you have another style feel free to do that as well (as long as it's quite obvious your going OOC). Just don't be OOC randomly in the middle of the reply.. use OOC at the beginning or at the end of the actual reply or as a separate post if you would prefer that. If you have to explain something or you have a term that might be confusing and you wish to clarify it at a certain section, feel free to use * and put it where your OOC area is.
6) CONTROLLING MULTIPLE CHARACTERS. Until I'm sure of how many people are actually going to roleplay this, for right now, stick with one character. The only other characters besides Kiku that I'm controlling are the main villain and the shadows, so that shouldn't be too much of an issue if I'm driving the plot along anyway. However once the roleplay starts, ask me then if you can control multiples and I'll think on it.
7) If you want your character to also be a Shadow user please consult me about it first.

BackStory: Grew up in a large house outside the city (in the country as close to the city as it gets). Lived with his younger sister and his family till he was around 14. They left and he stayed for reasons he won't tell anyone about ((something I'd like to remain a mystery for the roleplay for a little bit :3)). He's the only person who lives in the near mansion sized house but despite that he still takes good care of it. He works at a publishing company and in his free time he draws and works on side projects (that sometimes get him his own income). In regards to the shadows he seems to be stalked by a particular blob (it practically lives with him now) but other then that and the occasional shadow beast attack he's seen rather peaceful days. He's refrained from using his ability ever since his family left and it's weakened a little over the years to the point where he doesn't need to worry about it much anymore.

Anything else: Darkish past (regarding Kiku) but not much.. might get a little irked if you ask about his family.
