We hope you enjoy your stay, but that doesn't mean you can just cause havoc, and so we've set up a few rules. At least read the bolded titles to each section, though for your own best interest it would be good to read it all, as "I didn't know" is not a valid answer for breaking any rules. All these rules apply everywhere on the site, including the chatbox. Depending on severity, rule breaking can result in a warning or temperary suspension from the forum. Repeated rule breaking can result in a permanent ban.

Post Ranks are not for spamming
On Seychelles Seashore, there are multiple post ranks. Your post rank is the little title above your avatar, which starts out as "Colony". This rank will go up depending on how much you post. The point of them is to show your dedication to the site, not how many posts you can make in under a minute. In other words, spamming is not allowed. Other forms of spam includes excessive amounts of smilies. Something like " :oPLEASE cLICK MY DRAGON CAVE EGGS " would be considered spam. Please avoid using bright or close to white colors such as this, this, this, or this for general text. Spam does not include post bumping, so long as as it is done in moderation.
Cyberbullying + "Trolling" will not be tolerated
Harassing any member will not be tolerated. Cyberbullying is a serious issue, and so we do not accept it here. If you are ever being harassed, please contact the mods with details of what happened. "Trolling" also falls into this category. While it may seem harmless, trolling is often considered spam, if not harassment. Any hate towards a certain person or group of people, even if not represented on this forum will not be tolerated. Seychelles Seashore is meant to be a safe place, and we need your help to make it one.
Limit Profanity + Offensive Terms
Seychelles Seashore, as a ProBoards forum, is PG-13. More specifically, when following the RPG Rating System, our forum rates . This means that swearing is generally permitted, only mild sexual references are permitted, and mild violence is permitted. As cursing is generally allowed, you should be fine in most cases. Following this, please do not use terms referring to "Rape," "suicide," and other such terms, especially if you are pointing them to a specific character or member. These are serious issues that should not be taken lightly.
Mature Content is not allowed
Following our forum's rating, smut roleplays are not allowed on the site at all. Any and all sexual content, including roleplays, will be immediately removed from the site if found, even if you are of age. We are very strict about this, considering these issues could possible get Seychelles Seashore closed. Instead of smutting, consider fading to black and suggest that your characters "did the do," but you may absolutely not roleplay it out. This also goes for violence. While mild violence is allowed, only in moderation. Explicit gore is not allowed.
Use correct Roleplay Sections
Anything but script roleplays should be written in a story format (ex. Alfred walked over to the the man, curiosity apparent in his eyes. "May I help you?") and should follow the length mentioned in the board description. Script roleplays (ex. Alfred: *walks over to the man, curiosity in my eyes* May I help you?) belong in the script sections. The 1x1 section is for two people who have agreed to do a private roleplay together, and can vary in type/length. Please do not freely go and join these. Invite-only roleplays are for small groups that do not freely accept members, but rather invite those they know to join. Please do NOT create these and put "PM if you wish to join" in them, that means that anyone can request to join and they will be moved to their respective free-for-all section. That being said, please do not request to join these, either. Roleplays in the wrong categories will be moves.
OOC Chat in roleplays should be kept to a minimum.
When using a roleplay thread, please make sure that your out of character segments are recognizably different from your in character segments. (For example, use brackets for OOC text.) This is so mods can check if you are using the thread for pure chat. If a roleplay goes to ooc chat, it will be warned, and later locked.
Personal Information should not be asked for or shared
Sharing personal information such as age, birthday, email, etc. is (usually) permitted. However, avoid sharing your address, password, etc.
Advertising outside of specified areas is not allowed
All advertising outside of your signature, information, introductory post, or status is not allowed, unless it directly relates to the thread or post. The "other websites" section of the forum if provided if you wish to advertise or discuss another website.
Multiple Accounts Per Person is not suggested
Having more than one account is not necessary for Seychelles Seashore. Nothing is gained from having two accounts so we aren't going to say you can't them. Using a different account for each character you roleplay is not advised but allowed. Using extra account to gain in contests is prohibited, and will most likely be checked.
Signatures must stay within site rating
Signatures can hold advertisements, adoptables, your interests, a picture, a quote, or anything you want as long as it does not hold personal information or content above a PG-13 rating.
Rule Modifications are not allowed
Your roleplay, game, or thread rules may not have "Rule y doesn't apply here."
The use of Flashy Gifs and Screamers is not allowed
Flashy gifs and screamers can cause seizures for many people, and Seychelles Seashore should be a safe environment. If these are necessary, it must be posted as a link with a warning.
Limit Ranting and Negative Behavior
You have every right to be upset about something, and asking for help or support is perfectly fine. However, constant ranting, sob stories, and guilt-trips are not ok. By doing these things you are often making other members uncomfortable, and you often make yourself less enjoyable to be around. We want Seychelles Seashore to be as enjoyable as possible, and not only are you giving a negative feel to the site, but you are pushing away both current members and those debating on joining. This includes begging for roleplays. If you want to roleplay, join one already on the site or make your own.

If you believe any punishment to any member, including yourself, is unjust, never be afraid to contact me on-site or email me at chinapandaru@gmail.com so we can discuss it. You will never be punished for wanting proper treatment and enjoyment.

What is "Hetalia?"
Hetalia is a comedy anime/webcomic/manga about personified nations, regions, and micronations of the world. Each personification is usually based around that countries stereotypes, both good and bad. The main storyline takes place during WWII, but the series also covers other well known (and some lesser known) historical events and even some modern events. Read more about it here.
What Characters are taken?
Seychelles Seashore offers multiple roleplays, so chances are, there is probably at least one roleplay where your character isn't taken.
Is my OC/AU Character allowed?
Truthfully, it depends on the roleplay you are looking at. Generally, on the site OCs and AUs are not looked down upon. However, some roleplays may disallow them. Do not take this as a personal offense.
Should I have one-account-per-character, or a general account?
Whatever you wish. Most people here have general accounts or a single account for the one character they roleplay, however, multiple accounts are allowed. It is suggested to have a general account since some roleplays have a character minimum and it might avoid confusion, but if it makes you feel organized to have multiple accounts- go for it.
I'm new to roleplaying/don't roleplay, can I still join?
Of course! While Seychelles Seashore has become roleplay centric, there are other parts of the forum as well. Feel free to simply chat about Hetalia or share fanworks if you don't wish to roleplay. If you are new to roleplaying, feel free to join. We are open to new people and will help you learn.
Is Seychelles Seashore safe? Is anyone allowed to join? Will staff be treated as Special Snowflakes?
Yes, Yes, and Nope! As long as you follow the rules and are kind to other members, anyone is allowed to join! Staff are just like normal members with more responsibilities, if they do something wrong, it will be taken care of just as if they were a normal member.
A Staff member is misbehaving/not what I am looking for in my roleplay. Can I kick them from it?
If you would do so to a normal member, you have every right. I would hope our staff is mature enough and won't throw a fit. Your roleplay is your roleplay; you are in control of it, not us. As long as you aren't breaking the rules, you have every right to do as you wish.
A Roleplayer didn't allow me in their roleplay for no reason! They are being mean! Can you ban them?!
Sometimes this will happen. The other roleplayer likely did not do this just to make you angry, and if they did we will likely see a pattern. There could have been an issue with your roleplay length, grammar, or spelling. Perhaps you were breaking one of their roleplay's rules. Or, perhaps your character was simply not what they were looking for. Unless they are obviously being "mean," I cannot punish them.
What is the default profile picture? It's creepy!
The default profile picture is a reference to Hetaoni, a popular game among Hetalia fans. It is the main villain of the game, often referred to as "Steve" "The thing" or "Tony"
Because the creature resembles the default silhouette picture that many social media websites provide, and knowing that many Hetalia fans will probably get the reference, I (Chinapandaru) chose it to be the default picture. If you don't like it and don't have the access to upload your own picture, many other pictures are provided to choose from when you go to your Avatar Settings. Note that the default picture is different on the "Halloween Hetalia" theme.
The forum isn't letting me choose [Insert Country Name] for my username! Is this a glitch? I don't see anyone already with that name!
This is not a glitch. Each country name is "reserved." Because our forum revolves around multiple roleplays, multiple people are going to want to roleplay the same character. To avoid confusion and discouragement, members are not allowed to pick the name of a country. That would make it seem like you are the only member who can roleplay that character, at least to guests browsing. Names based off of specific characters or their human names are perfectly fine, but usernames such as "Japan" "Italy" or "France" are not allowed.
I'm being asked to download "Tapatalk" on mobile/I can't access the site from mobile!
This is an annoying feature I just found out about, and it must have been recently implemented by out host. Tapatalk is a mobile app that basically puts all of a forum's posts into a stream, such as one you would scroll through on facebook or tumblr, which can be annoying if you're not used to it, and is not the intended way for the forum to be displayed. My best suggestion is for you to try and find the desktop version of the site through your web browser or search engine.

Hello! I'm Chinapandaru. My name real name is Emily, but just call me Panda. uwu I'm the one who originally created Seychelles Seashore, and I'm often trying to find the time to come on now that it's grown a bit more than I expected! Because of that, I try to be on as often as I can. I make most of the themes and advertising graphics, although I'm still not the best at it. The main character I roleplay is APH China, and I roleplay him in a ton of AUs. I've recently been experimenting with APH America and APH Russia as well.

If you have a website, forum, etc., not just in the hetalia fandom, contact us! Affiliates are great ways to promote forums, and gives users of either site access to other great ones! Seychelles Seashore is open to almost any forum or website, disregarding how much traffic your site has.
